About the Festival
Ticehurst Literary Festival aims to bring world-class authors to rural East Sussex, for the enjoyment of all.
We believe literature can promote understanding, provide escapism, knowledge, recognition, pleasure, and even company. Books are a meeting of the imaginations of author and reader, at Ticehurst Literary Festival the two can meet in person.
We aim to encourage a love of literature for life. The festival offers workshops and talks for children and teenagers. We hope these events will inspire children to pick up a book.
At least one spot at each festival will be offered to a Sussex author, and at least one to a debut writer. The festival also supports diversity.
We envisage our festival growing each year. We would love to hold literary events in the fields of Stonegate, as well as Ticehurst, to embrace both villages and their wonderful communities.
The literary festival is founded by the journalist and writer, Rosalind Upton.
